Congrats to our Group Member Mark Frederick!
His Spring image of this beautiful Adirondack Otter,
swimming in icy waters, has been selected to be
ALPL’s Cover Photo of the Week!
Mark writes…
“On my canoe cruises yesterday and my sunrise cruise this morning (Holly Lake, Town of Bleecker), I saw otters (three this morning). This one was swimming amongst the remaining ice yesterday.
I haven’t yet uploaded the pictures I took this morning – two otters were playing atop beaver lodge number 1, which was still totally covered in snow – jumping on one another – they seem to live to have fun!
Yesterday I was freaking out a bit because I thought I saw a pair of loons on the far side of the lake! When I got out on the lake in my canoe, I found the pair – unfortunately, it was a pair of male common mergansers and NOT loons.
I’m like a kid in a candy store …again!!! How I’ve missed my sunrise and sunset cruises!!!
Heading back up after lunch – one more night (this one with my grandson, Ayden) – then home for the weekend – and then back up because …”I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing!”
The Adirondacks are coming back to life!!!”
